ASSASSIN'S CREED: ORIGINS
Environment / Illustrations / Game Assets
As a history buff, nerd for all things Ancient Egyptian, and long-time fan of Assassin's Creed, getting the opportunity to work on Origins felt like a dream come true. Here you can find some of my environmental illustrations, digital paintovers, and even a few in-game assets designed for Assassin's Creed: Origins. Released October 2017.
Concept Art / Props / Technical Drawings
One of the most positive experiences working on Origins was the encouragement received to take advantage of all sorts of mediums. These techniques varied from digital to traditional, from stylized to realistic depending on the task, which kept the concepts varied and the energy fresh. It also presented a wonderful opportunity to experiment and go wild with ideas.
As well as illustrations and concepts design, I also collaborated with the animation and writing team to storyboard key cinematics in the game, most notably the Naval Battle sequences in Origins. Also included are early boards for the Stone Circles mini quest, which were later altered and these versions scrapped.
Original Web Comic Pitch
I enjoyed the adventures of Bayek and his friends so much, I collaborated with the writing team and produced four pages of a comic pitch to continue his adventures in a new format. Using a script from one of the writers' favourite quests, the character Hilarus proved popular among fans of the game. Unfortunately this pitch was never picked up, but they were fun to work on regardless.
